The life of a Naga Sadhu (naked holy man) begins with a dip in the Holy Ganges. Signifying the end of all worldly bondings, the deep sets the Sahdu free of all social identities and relationships, let him walk the earth naked and covered in ash. It is believed that a dip in the holy waters at this time washes off all sins and guarantees a place in heaven.
