Ghana
From the series Witch Village.
In many rural areas of Africa, West-Africa in particular, witchcraft is still a firm belief. When someone dies (most commonly a child) the blame is often put on an aunt, neighbour or grandmother who is believed to be a witch. Once they are accused of witchry, they are often sentence to death. Some manage to flee. If they are lucky, they make their way to the witches camp. Here they can live in peace, but they will spend the rest of their life alone and inhard labour. This village in Ghana has been a refuge for accused witches for over 200 years.
