Afro-Punk Festival July 3-8 in Brooklyn

I saw Pure Hell in Philly. I hung out with the bass player. Good Times.

The 5th annual Afro-Punk Festival, taking place July 3-8 in Brooklyn, NY, has just announced its line-up for this year's event. Plenty of bands will perform, and films will also be shown each night of the festival.

Here's a list of the performers:

July 4:
Pure Hell
Whole Wheat Bread
American Fangs
Game Rebellion
The Objex
Joya Bravo
& more

July 5:
Living Colour
Earl Grey Hound
Tamar Kali
The London Souls
Apollo Heights
Sabatta
& more

July 6:
Saul Williams
Janelle Monae
The Dallas Austin Experience
Elevator Fight
Chewing Pic's

Blackie
& more

There will also be a skate park open three days of the festival, in the GGMC parking lot adjacent to BAM at Lafayette Avenue and Ashland Place. Also, the second annual Afro-Punk Block Party will be held on June 12th. There'll be live music, DJs, DIY fashion, food and craft vendors. What more could you want?
