Can you feel the incredibly powerful energies building
Can you feel the incredibly powerful energies building, as though something very important is about to happen and we know it but we just can’t say exactly what it is? The Libra Moon is in the via combusta all day long, which will add an element of intensity and excitement to an already highly stimulated day. Our work is most definitely to stay centered and find the still space, where all the drama of the world can’t get close enough to disturb us. The drama is plentiful, no one would argue that. Icons are leaving, Glorified criminals are paying the price for their acts of greed. The old order is crumbling. The new order is being created as we go, if only we will remember that and stay focused on the Love.

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope
A creative project you’ve been working on gets a second chance this week, but unlike the last time you tried this, you’re finding that your own needs are far more evident and important to you than they were before. A significant other figures greatly in this process, and it is time to face the truth about how much input you want to have in this project. Coming to terms with your feelings may be difficult for you, but fortunately sharing those feelings is no longer causing you problems. Mercury makes beautiful aspects to the Aquarian planets overseeing your latest efforts, and the Messenger moves into Cancer and opposes Pluto by the weekend, offering the chance to speak up and generate a huge transformation that brings great satisfaction all around. Whatever you do, refuse to mince your words or hold back the way you feel.

Quote of the day
The secret of attraction is to love yourself. Attractive people judge neither themselves nor others. They are open to gestures of love. They think about love, and express their love in every action. They know that love is not a mere sentiment, but the ultimate truth at the heart of the universe

Dancin’ in the Streets
For 3 years, Dancin’ in the Streets celebrated HIV awareness each year. We would celebrate by having dj’s spin ( Rich Medina, Mike Nyce, Illvibe Collective ) with live music performance and dance performances ( Lady Alma, Ursula Rucker, Montazh, Capoeira groups ) all while educating the public on HIV and to also get tested! After taking a hiatus, this year we’re back. An evening that celebrates anonymous testing in a fun, social atmosphere with dj’s, live performances, vendors, live artists and so much more.
This year on the main stage at the new amazing Artists Piazza, outdoors at 2nd & Girard, will have Dj's Rich Medina & Mike Nyce spinning afrobeat, classics & soulful house music - along with dance performances from Philly’s flyest dance crews. Surrounding the space will be various artistic vendors as well as Philly’s greatest artists painting live. Across the space, there will be a truck for HIV testing and awareness information. Free gifts for the first 25 people to get tested!!! The event will be hosted by Philly MC, Ethel Cee & local well know friend, Oronde.
The space that we have chosen is really special. In it’s grand opening months, we will be one of the firsts to showcase such a great event at Northern Liberties new 60,000 sq ft gorgeous Outdoor Artists’ Piazza. A main stage, a huge HD movie screen, tons of space - this setting is something Philly has yet to experience!

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope
New relationships or new chapters beginning in older relationships are the key to everything now. Sunday’s Venus Mars conjunction occurred in your partnership sector, making at least one significant other a vital player in your own inner reunification process. Whether this connection is brand new or being reworked, giving yourself over to the all important communication that goes on between the two of you promises to move the mountains that wouldn’t budge before. The New Moon on Monday opposes Pluto, your ruler, who is currently in your house of communication. If you speak honestly and openly you will be afforded a new level of understanding about how the Truth can set you free. This is only the beginning of a month long transition period that ultimately changes everything about the way you view yourself in the mirror of relationship. Think only with your heart.

Janet Jackson If
So I'm here dancing my lil heart away with focus in our living room. We love this and we challenge anyone to a dance off to this song.
New Band:Explode into Colors Chk them out!
Explode into Colors is not the apocalypse of glee their name might imply. Instead, they're an eerie sort of dance band, cowbell-y instrumentals and long pony jams dug deep in '70s Ethiopiques, spooky dubwise echoes and low-end guitar stabbing. (It's a stabbing motion, though, not actual stabbing, this music will not kill you, it will make you stronger.) They release a lot of stuff on cassette, but their forthcoming project is a run of three simultaneously dropped, collectible 7-inch records on Kill Rock Stars, Milady and Just for the Hell of It records.
The Holga 120-3D Stereo camera
The Holga 120-3D Stereo camera takes the Holga Color Flash design and giving it the ability to create 3D images.
With a standard tripod mount (1/4-20), single mask, bulb setting, built-in threaded shutter release button and built-in color flash with rotating color filter wheel, this Holga Stereo uses 120mm slide film to take 2 photos at once - creating magical slides for viewing with our 3D Stereo Slide Viewer. You can also develop photos with the film: each print will have the same image twice, side-by-side. Batteries required if you intend to use the built-in flash. Imported. Wipe clean.

The lotus flower
The lotus flower appeared in legends originating from ancient Egypt. It played an important part in ancient Egyptian religion. The pure white lotus flower, the only plant to fruit and flower simultaneously, emerges from the depths of the muddy swamp. Growing from the mud at the bottom of ponds and streams, the exquisite Lotus flower rises above the water and is usually white or pink with 15 or more oval, spreading petals, and a peculiar, flat seedcase at its center.
short journey through yourself
(so this is...... more streams of cons from 2004. I hope you enjoy)
Where have you been?
On such a short journey through yourself
Where have you been?
In the delusion of your insecurities
Everyone recognizes pain
that's how we relate.
My tears stain the insides of my being
well not actually
but I predict in the future they will
I guess because people are allowed their evils
the stars say I'm wrong
and I say the stars are wrong
Must have been an explosion of orbits
trying to deliver the truth
but, got caught up in the beauty of themselves
just like humans lurking for a slice
of fulfillment pie, heavy on lies
and light on truth

Wow I love this! Thank you Heather for sending me this
Scorpio - The cosmic lovers, Mars and Venus, unite in your 7th House of relationships on the Summer Solstice next Sunday, making this an extremely promising summer for connecting with soul mates and attractive opposites. You can manifest one or more of your dream relationships this summer, so use this powerful weekend to set your intention for what your soul really needs in this area of your life. Next Monday's New Moon in your 9th House of the higher mind opposes Pluto in your 3rd House of thoughts and communication. This energy urges you to dig deep and get in touch with the core beliefs that convince you that thinking or speaking negatively about yourself or other people continues to have some evolutionary value to you. You'll see a direct link this summer between what you say about your life and what manifests in return -- there's probably no better motivation for getting serious about working with your thoughts and beliefs.

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope
Consider what your perception of home and family was a year ago and compare it to the way you feel now. The concept of family has a whole new meaning hasn’t it? Expanding your definition of domestic bliss has brought dimension you never expected to find, and now, as Jupiter becomes the third of three 4th house planets to go retrograde inside of a week, you begin an inward journey that allows you make a reality out of your new definition for a happy home life. It doesn’t hurt that Venus and Mars come together on Sunday in your house of significant relationship. Your concept of family may have grown to encompass humanity itself, but your partner definitely has a big role to play. Talking with your significant other about your observations this week will bring you much closer together. Don’t leave anything out.

Nightmares.
Bless. Its Me being poetry face again. Kholi and I are steady on that workshop shit via FB. Today's theme is Nightmares. Can yall peep my style yet. Can you tell which part is mine. Holla Black let me know. Enjoy.
There's this loud crashing
Running
Time I conjure.
Swift-footed and
Faded
I tumble again and again.
I rise.
With each standing swamp-thick
Tall fear grabs
Me.
There are murderers
Behind each gilded mirror.
I wonder
if i will ever get over this moment.
My carcass shipped in the wind
Pieces of my heart bleeding in mouths
staining faces
I knew
they wanted to devour me
they twisted their thoughts into my locks
celebrated their hands across my body
and I liked it.
Enjoyed every reason.
Suffered it against my solar plexus.
Decorated each breathe
like young soldiers returning home
to dead mothers lacking health care.
A steady diet
of dieing in front of TV sets.
A sacrifice full of stimulus.

Biggest known Diamond in the Universe
Confirming what the Beatles always knew, astronomers have actually found a diamond in the sky - directly above Australia. It is the biggest known diamond in the universe, in fact.
According to American astronomers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics, a white dwarf star in the constellation of Centaurus, next to the Southern Cross, has been found to have a 3000-kilometre-wide core of crystallised carbon, or diamond.
It weighs 2.27 thousand trillion trillion tonnes - that's 10 billion trillion trillion carats, or a 1 followed by 34 zeroes. The biggest earthly jewel is one of the British crown jewels, the 530-carat Star of Africa.
However, this cosmic jewel is hidden beneath a layer of hydrogen and helium gases, with the diamond core making up between 50 and 90 per cent of its mass. "It's the mother of all diamonds," said astronomer Travis Metcalfe, who led the team of researchers that studied the star.
"Some people refer to it as Lucy, in a tribute to the Beatles song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."
Known officially as BPM 37093, the star confirms a theory, first raised in the early 1960s, that cool white dwarfs should have a diamond core.
A white dwarf is what small stars, those up to about the size of the sun, turn into when they run out of nuclear fuel and die.
The intense pressures at the heart of such dead stars compress the carbon into diamond.
But confirming this theory has only been possible recently.
Lucy "pulsates", which means its light fluctuates at regular intervals. "By measuring these pulsations, we were able to study the hidden interior of the white dwarf, just like seismograph measurements of earthquakes allow geologists to study the interior of the Earth," Dr Metcalfe said.
"We figured that the carbon interior of this white dwarf has solidified to form the galaxy's largest diamond."
This means that other white dwarfs must also have diamond cores. Our own sun will become a white dwarf when it dies in 5 billion years. Two billion years after that, its ember core will crystallise as well, leaving a giant diamond in the centre of our solar system.
Vince Ford, a research officer at Mount Stromlo Observatory near Canberra, said astronomers, including Australians, had observed the star for more than eight years.
The star is about 50 light years away (500 trillion kilometres) - a fair distance as far as stars go. This means it is about 400 times too faint to see with the naked eye.

Stargaze from a distance
I've been doing a bit a writing with my friend Kholi via fb. This is the second joint we did. The first one is posted on her blog. If I had to pick I like that one better so check it out. Anyhue we will be doing these all week maybe longer so make sure you tell me which ones you like. So this is half Super half Kholi enjoy.
For as long as i can remember
I've had worms.
Deep inside my intestines.
Gutting out my insides.
Its only a matter of time now.
before sweet hymns and
Grand mama's cries
make me
the Mos Def
in the room.
Bigger and Deffer
than ever
More clever than you
and
or I ever imagined.
Growing out of myself
is this
excellence that eats.
Future gilded with fear and longing.
An inability to be appeased unless pleasing.
I like the power.
I can
For as long as i can remember.
Stargaze from a distance.
See myself
through you.
Smell your anticipation thick like
love.
Heavy as my own
guilt knowing or oft
feeling the more I owe.
Scream my name lover.
I've been long preparing for this screw.
I'm coming-
Pouring my dreams as offering
unto your feet-
leaking long after the vessel is empty.
For as long as i can remember
I've had worms.
Deep inside my intestines.
Gutting out my insides.
Its only a matter of time now.

This cd is the truth. All my Punk rock heads know whats up. If you have ever been in the focus truck you prob. heard this song.

Kundalini Yoga
Chakra meditation is a type of concentrative meditation which is a fundamental of Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini is the Divine Cosmic Energy in the body. It is symbolized as a sleeping serpent, coiled-up at the base of the spine. This energy lies dormant until awakened, then flows up the spine to the brain through the Sushumna Nadi, a channel through which nervous energy passes, energizing the various chakras along the way. Chakras (there are seven main ones) are subtle energy centers going from the base of the spine upward to the crown of the head, and are like fly-wheels corresponding to different areas of the nervous system in the body.

Ok so I'm really into writing streams of cons. Alabaster im'd me on facebook like yo lets get a beer at moms. I was like. you buying he said yeah lets do it. So we get there and he's like yo I been feeling your facebook updates lets talk. So we talked about love and life. An hour went by and I'm like yo lets write a stream. So we did and here it is.(Its not about anyone its about everything all at once) We call it 3 dollar insight. I hope you enjoy it. bless your hearts.
In the Dark. Under the night moon. I see myself clear. As If I'm the One. I stand before a reflection of myself with no mirrors to change light patterns. This story of us is plague with zombie hearts offering forever blooming flowers. Compiling history in a purple cloth folded and placed beneath my lapel. So some small echo of a thought creeps upon me. Like rats on my bed. A nexus of interruptions. Take what you can from past lives. Look to the forward. Amaze yourself everyday. I look for an exit. A way out of it all. Maybe then I'll get what I want. Loud and cursed. Become the eye of the storm and all will stay centered. Despite the chaos and cosmos around you. I still dream. every night and its always the same hue. Glowing all the colors of spring. Don't worry. My actions are locked away. Dangerous company to hold down. If you continue to love the now. The your future will hold limitless beauty. Just as the story begins to unfold. the Retrograde starts.

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope
Both Venus and Mars have entered your relationship sector, and both are trining your ruler, Pluto in your 3rd house of communication. This should go a long way to offer you a good look at yourself in the mirror. When you interact with your partner this week, or anyone you feel an important connection with, know that you are gazing upon yourself. There’s no one there. It’s all your own perception of your own projection. Every one of us is connected and taken collectively we are the One Living God. Are you starting to understand this? This is the Truth that inner integration brings us to. You have the bird’s eye view, with the opportunity to get it first and then do what you do best: transform others with your perception. Focus on you this week, and next week will take care of itself.<

The Full Moon Stream
Today Focus and I are brunchin it up at Cochon. And I'm like yo lets write a stream of cons(we write line for line without reading and without edit.)The piece came out fuckin sweet so I wanted to share it with you. I really like it cause Its hard to tell when I come in or when Focus comes in. This is a look at the random stuff we think about. Its funny cause idk what we are talking about but somehow it works. So here it is.. we call it The Full Moon Stream.
I want it. by the lake. under the pale moon. I want it now more than ever. Catch the excitement in your teeth crackle pop. I'm smiling in the bevy of anticipation, holding hands and harping love songs. I am downwind, clocking your scent. Ahh what it means to be inside the reasons. the understandings that hail from above. And ceilings were sad, but hopeful in convincing us that they were impostors, only the sky can cover and enclose the bodies, The shelter was redefined as a house, Since then, the dirt began to forget us. In the early days. We would wish the to hold the sun. Black our faces and blind our eyes. We would wish for everything and cross our hearts with our innocence. It was a cornered soul who created action-forms like manipulation and deceit. The clever and self-rite minds called this survival what bad men do. In the zone. My heart finally finds itself.

Maze feat. Frankie Beverly- Southern Girl
This one goes out to my amazing friend Heather down in New Orleans. Make sure you dance to this under the full moon tonight.
Full Moon Today. Hold Yourself Tight
The Gemini/Sagittarius axis is a mental one. Gemini moves about freely and quickly gathering and spreading information, while Sagittarius explores and attempts to make sense of the data flow. The two weeks since the New Moon in Gemini have been more slow, plodding and contemplative than the usual Gemini way, because its ruler Mercury has been in earth-bound Taurus and retrograde for half of the time. Our minds have been working differently. We have been picking up and passing around information that’s practical and useful, a lot of it involving relationships, finances and how we earn our money.
Watch what builds and mounts as the Full Moon in Sagittarius approaches. You’ll soon feel compelled to act on it – in alignment with your mind, heart and soul.

The Moon remains in Scorpio
The Moon remains in Scorpio all day today, giving Pluto another opportunity for domain over our atmosphere. Yesterday was huge, (always a great word for any experience involving Pluto), courtesy of the Mars Pluto trine that occurred very early Thursday morning and continued to pour its energies over the entire planet uninterrupted all day long. In fact, there won’t be another major aspect till after 3pm EDT today, and what an intensely productive aspect this Mars Pluto trine has been! This aspect has made it possible to make the kind of headway we have only been able to think about longingly for the past four months. We held memories of this kind of enthusiastic power to turn imagination into tangible reality, but we have been unable to achieve anything close to manifestation like what we are experiencing now for a very long time.

RIP KOKO TAYLOR
Respect Blues singer died today.
Over the course of her almost 50-year career, Taylor has received just about every award the blues world has to offer and then some. She’s received Grammy nominations for seven of her last eight Alligator albums, and she won a Grammy in 1984 for the live multi-artist album Blues Explosion on Atlantic Records. In 2004 she was presented with the coveted National Heritage Fellowship Award from the National Endowment For The Arts. She holds 25 Blues Music Awards (more than any other blues artist, male or female). A major feather in her cap came on March 3, 1993, when Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley honored Taylor with a Legend Of The Year Award, and declared “Koko Taylor Day” throughout Chicago. In 1998, Chicago Magazine named her “Chicagoan Of The Year,” and in 1999, Taylor was inducted into the Blues Foundation’s Hall Of Fame. “There are many kings of the blues,” said The Boston Globe, “but only one queen. Koko’s voice is still capable of pinning a listener to the back wall.”
“I come from a poor family,” recalls Koko. “A very poor family. I was raised up on what they call a sharecropper’s farm.” Born Cora Walton (an early love of chocolate earned her the lifelong nickname Koko) in 1928 just outside of Memphis in Bartlett, Tennessee, Koko was an orphan by age 11. Along with her five brothers and sisters, Koko developed a love for music from a mixture of gospel she heard in church and blues she heard on radio stations beaming in from Memphis. Even though her father encouraged her to sing only gospel music, Koko and her siblings would sneak out back with their homemade instruments and play the blues. With one brother accompany-ing on a guitar strung wth baling wire and another brother on a fife made out of a corncob

So the very talented Sarah Green blessed my heart today with these beautiful photographs of Me. She blessed me with 15 amazing photos. I am very sure you will see the rest of them. These two speak to me at the moment. Smiling is an art of kindness. When we smile we lighten the burdens we place on our hearts. So here I am smiling my little heart away. I hope its contagious.

So this me half gangsta half victim of my circumstances. I really like the angles in this pic. This pic reminds me of playing a role like acting. I love how people want you to play roles. How people want you to satisfy their craving of the moment. What about how easy it is to fall into certain roles without realizing. Mmmmm makes me think but maybe I'm being too deep about. well anyhew enjoy. and once again Thank you Sarah Green
Can you and I talk about it?
Ok so we are at the park and Faye Runaway says Hey Cam and Alabaster I want yall to write a conversation, to say before a song I wrote. I said ok lets do it now and fast and so we had a conversation and she wrote (well tried to) down every word we said. So we went home jammed it on the one and its beautiful. Come to a show and you'll hear it for sure. This is the conversation which is fluid and subject to change(also is totally a freestyle and not about anyone.)Alabaster will be A and I will be C. The song is called you and I.
C: Can you and I talk about it?
A: Lets talk.
C: My heart has exploded, with no place for the remains. What should I do?
A: Maybe you should keep it in a box, put it on a shelf. Only take it down when you're ready.
C: But I'm ready now. What if the person I want to give it to isn't ready?
A: Be patient
C: But I'm very patient
A: Love is patient. The mind only confuses things. It has to be a state of mind.
C: But where do I put my desires? They haunt me! They haunt me!
A: You have to free yourself from your desires. Anything you desire will ultimately bring you pain.
C: I am not afraid.
a: I wasn't warning you.
C: you were just telling me whats evident. but my heart is bruised.
a: When does the healing begin?
c: When does the healing begin?
a: When you stop reopening wounds.
c: I just sewed myself up yesterday. It took me all afternoon.
a: But today you spent the whole day picking at it.
c: I know, I know.

the feminine act of opening
Hopefully we all decided to contemplate very seriously the feminine act of opening up yesterday, because Venus is extremely active today and to reiterate one more time, she is not at her finest when it comes to her emotional state. She wants to get home already (think about where it is in your life that you’re feeling out of sorts, wishing you could take a break, or just yearneing for things to be different already). That’s it right there. Take a deep breath and relax into your situation… Kiss it good bye because it’s about to end.
Marvin Gaye - Flying High in the Friendly Sky 1971
This is the song of my life. I'm sure there will be more. Play this song at my funeral like 7 times.
Ani Difranco Untouchable Face
you look like a photograph of yourself takin from far far away and i wouldn't know what to do and i wouldn't know what to say except fuck you.(I come back to this song all the time. It helps me center myself whenever I'm feelin crazy.)

Scorpio Weekly Horoscope
With both your rulers connecting harmoniously this week, you’ll probably feel better about the fact that great change is upon you once again. Change is not your favorite experience, though you’re good at generating it in the lives of others. Resist the urge to understand everything that happens with your mind, and resolve to let your heart do the thinking instead. In this way you’ll come to realize that change is the only constant there is, and with this revelation you can find your Self and be liberated. Your fixed nature resists movement, but what else is there in the universe? You yourself are one of the greatest forces of transformation there is. It is time to step up and into your true nature to begin your life’s mission. Sunday’s full Moon offers the rare chance to shift your values completely. Let it be.
